How Often Do I Need an Eye Exam?
Eye exams catch more than prescription changes. They are also an important part of your preventive health routine, allowing your eye doctor to screen for serious eye health and systemic conditions.
Many eye conditions do not cause noticeable symptoms during their early stages, when they are most treatable. By attending regular eye exams, your optometrist can screen for signs of these conditions before they impact your vision. What to Expect During an Eye Exam in Chandler
When you arrive at our office, our friendly staff will check you in and assist you with your patient forms.
Your eye exam will be tailored to your needs, but every eye exam includes:
- 200° retinal exam with Optomap
- Detailed evaluation of your eye health
- Family health history and past medical or vision issues
- Refraction assessment to determine your prescription
- Questions about your medical/family history, lifestyle, and medications
- Assessment of your depth perception, eye coordination, and color vision
- Analysis of your visual acuity for both eyes individually, together, and with corrective lenses
During your eye exam, Dr. Simms will ask you questions about your health, vision, and needs. We only ask questions necessary to understand your eye health and vision needs, and we do our best to make you feel comfortable.
Once your eye exam is complete, Dr. Simms can provide recommendations for treatments and future eye care services based on your history and the information gathered during your exam.
